2007 Race Report:
After a week of settled Autumnal weather, race day arrived with the good
weather spell continuing through the race.
The conditions under foot were pretty dry apart from the usual muddy conditions
on the course approaching Nursery Cottage. However course conditions were
much improved in some places thanks to the recently completed path
upgrades up on top of the Bennachie range.
A total of 103 runners took part in this years senior race and some great
finish times were set; Cosmic's Dan Whitehead was 1st man home
in a time of
56:09, while Desside's Ruth Mackenzie was first lady home in a time of 1:10:17.
Ruth was also awarded
the Linda Trahan Trophy as first lady vet home. The Cosmic men (Dan Whitehead,
Jason Williamson, Keith Varney) retained the men's team prize while GariochRR's
Ladies (Donna Gray, Rachael Paterson, Chantel Clark) re-claimed this
year's ladies team prize.
The full results of the senior hill race are available here.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and took part, as well as all our helpers, particularly the marshalls up on the hill range trying too keep warm as the runners raced past.
