Welcome to the Bennachie Junior Relay Race page.
Firmly established on the school's cross-coutry race
calendar, this race has regularly drawn over 30 teams of 3 runners, from
schools throughout the region.
This year we have capped the age entry for the relay race at under 13
years old, and instead added a junior relay race for runners in the 13-17
years age bracket.

The nearest Airport is Aberdeen (distance: 20miles)
The nearest Rail Station is Insch (distance: 4miles)
Directions for entrants coming from Aberdeen are as follows:-
From Aberdeen follow the A96 to Inverurie and continue for approx 7 miles to the turning to OYNE and INSCH on the B9002. Go left proceeding for another 1-3/4 miles passing through Oyne, before turning left at the signost marked GADIE BURN. Continue up that road for a further mile to the car park at the Back o' Bennachie.

The route is
approximately 1km in length with a total of 40m of ascent required.
Route Description
The race starts at the main registration area; a section of the field is marked
off for the relay race. The race goes in a counter-clockwise direction, up
through the car park area onto the main cinder path/logging track.
Turn left onto the cinder patch and continue along to the next left turn
(dont worry, there
will be a
marshall at each junction, to make sure everyone's kept on track).
From there its down along the path to the bottom of the car park,
before
running through the field entrance back to the finish line/changeover
area.
